The One Book You Must Read To Improve Yourself and Your Marriage

The One Book You Must Read To Improve Yourself and Your Marriage

September 4, 2019 Communication, Disagreeing, Knowing God, Marriage: The Fundamentals No Comments

At the core of every person’s thoughts are two very important aspects: self-understanding and self-worth.  Every day we tell ourselves hundreds of things about ourselves that are untrue. This talk, called self-talk, is so much more important than we realize.  What we tell ourselves about ourselves is paramount to who we are and will become.

Here’s the litmus test for who will benefit from the book:  if you are breathing, you will benefit! What we don’t realize is that much of our self-talk is negative and destructive.  The things we tell ourselves are often lies. In fact, the biggest liar you have ever met looks back at you in the bathroom mirror every morning.

How do we get past this epidemic of negativity in our minds?  The Bible has much to say about this. The Bible has changed my life more than any other book I’ve read, but there is another book that absolutely changed my life.  Next to the Bible, it has changed my life more than any other book. Telling Yourself the Truth is not a self-help book.  It is a Christian book that brings to light the way we talk to ourselves and the negative impact it can have in every area of our lives.  It also shares what God’s word has to say about our value in God and how our self-talk should be.

Why is this important for engaged or married people?  The marriage can’t be better than the sum of the two of you.  Therefore, in order to have the best marriage you can have, you both need to be at the top of your game.  Getting your self-talk in order helps you to become the best possible version of yourself… and your spouse, children, and marriage deserve that.

I’ve kept this short and to the point.  I’d like to invite you to read Telling Yourself the Truth and discover the best possible you.  There are study notes in the back, so this is a great book to study and discuss with your small group or with a few friends.  The flowing of ideas and accountability are a great help in learning. Please comment on how the book helped you. We’d love to hear from you!

If you click the link below, it will take you to the purchase of the book.  While it doesn’t cost you any more to buy it from us, we do make a small commission on the sale and that helps us support our ministry.  Thank you.
